Summer Reading

Summer Programming for Kids
Sign ups for Summer Readers’ Club begin July 7th at the library! The Readers’ Club will look a bit different this year. From July 7 through August 15, every day your child reads for at least 15 minutes, they will receive a sticker (you do not have to report daily!). When they complete five days of reading for at least 15 minutes, they will receive a ticket for a chance to win a larger prize. Tickets can be redeemed all at once or as they go along. If your child reads for at least 15 minutes all 40 days of the Summer Readers’ Club (July 7 – August 15), they will receive a Book Buck to redeem for a children’s book in the Book Barn!

Summer Programming for Adults
In addition to our weekly and monthly programs, we’re also offering a Summer Reading Challenge for adults! Sign up beginning July 7th at the library and participate through August 15! Since this year’s theme is “Color our World”, we challenge you to read as many books that:
- Take place is another country; OR
- Are written by an author living outside the United States; OR
- Take place in a fictional land.
For each book you complete, you will fill out a slip and submit it to be entered into a number of prize drawings. The more books you read, the more likely your chances of winning one or more prizes!
Stuck on ideas? We have a list!
